Join us for Texas State Parks’ first Family Volunteer Day on April 26th!

Come and experience our beautiful park with your family! Texas State Parks wants to invite you to a day of fun and volunteer service. Join our park team to help with a variety of family-friendly and kid-friendly volunteer activities.

Who: All ages are welcome! We encourage families with kids to join in the activities. All youth 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

What: Some possible activities include:

All Day - City Nature Challenge
◦ Help log different species of plants, wildlife, and birds into our City Nature Challenge project on iNaturalist. Logged findings assist staff, biologist, and other experts with research, projects, and understanding our ecosystems!
◦ Event takes place anywhere inside park boundaries.

9:30AM -11AM - Painting at Burkett Trailhead
◦ Check in at the South Unit Gatehouse and meet at Burkett Trailhead.
◦ Bring water, sun protection and wear closed toed shoes

1-3PM - Ranger's Choice - Trail Clean Up
◦ Assist rangers with cleaning up San Angelo SP
◦ Location of trail/location to be announced by April 15th
