SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Angelo State University, in collaboration with Howard College and the Tom Green County Hunger Coalition, is gearing up for the third annual Outrun Student Hunger 2K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 20th, at 11 a.m. The event, taking place at the ASU Mayer Muesum, aims to raise awareness about college student food insecurity while fostering community engagement.

Designed to be inclusive, the event welcomes students of all ages and members of the public to participate in a non-competitive fun run/walk. The route will traverse through ASU's central campus mall, culminating at the Houston Harte University Center. Following the run/walk, attendees will be treated to a complimentary lunch, prize drawings, and informational booths from various organizations.

To join the fun run/walk, participants are encouraged to make a suggested donation of one or more non-perishable, shelf-stable food items. All donations will contribute to restocking the shelves of the ASU Ram Pantry and the Howard College food pantry, supporting students facing food insecurity. The ASU Ram Pantry, situated in the Houston Harte University Center, provides free non-perishable food items and toiletries to ASU students in need, mirroring the mission of Howard College's food pantry for HC students.

By coming together for the Outrun Student Hunger 2K Fun Run/Walk, participants not only engage in a healthy activity but also play a vital role in addressing food insecurity among college students in the community.
