SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — San Angelo Police Chief Travis Griffith sat down with KLST's Carolyn McEnrue to share some tips and tricks to help combat package theft during the busy holiday season.
"We try to encourage people to take proactive steps to, to help from being a victim of a crime like that," he said.
Chief Griffith explained that utilizing tools like a camera doorbell, ensuring there is good lighting during night hours, asking a neighbor to pick up the package or a box having a box on your front porch that a delivery person could set the package in are all good ways to ensure your mail does not get stolen.
Along with preventing package theft, Chief Griffith shared that vehicle burglarize is one of the highest metric points that the department sees.
Chief Griffith reminds people to lock their doors and report any suspicious activity.
