MARSHALL, Minn. – The Angelo State baseball team receive a couple more national honors as Jacob Guerrero and Chase Pendley have received recognition by the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.
Guerrero, an accounting major from Colleyville, Texas, was named to the second team, tallying his third All-American honor and second of the season after being named to the same honor by the NCBWA earlier in May. The senior had a standout season at the plate, boasting a .401 batting average and a 1.113 OPS. He has racked up 89 hits, including 19 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs, while scoring 75 runs and driving in 52. A pillar of consistency for the Rams in left field, Guerrero had also drawn 41 walks and swiped 20 bases.
Pendley was recognized as an honorable mention as a designated hitter. The junior interdisciplinary studies student from Prosper, Texas completed his first season as a Ram swinging for a .390 batting average, .461 on base percentage and a .515 slugging percentage. He collected 78 hits, 13 doubles, three triples and two home runs while being responsible for 107 total runs.
