KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up the weekend at Texas A&M – Kingsville's Cactus Cup and McMurry's Warhawk Classic on Saturday.
At the Cactus Cup, Shackelia Green finished first overall in the 400-meter hurdles, earning a provisional time of 1:01.91.
Kylyie Paden won the pole vault with a provisional mark of 3.81m (12-6) while Camryn Barros finished second in the event at 3.66m (12-0). Paden also finished third in the high jump at 1.67m (5-5.75).
Fedra Florentin took first in the shot put with a provisional mark of 14.74m (48-4.5) while Marie Schuler (57.03m | 187-1) won the hammer throw and Federica Dozio (47.29m | 155-2) won the javelin.
The Rambelles also took the top two spots in the discus as Tiamara Hill-Johnson won with a provisional throw of 48.28m (158-5) while Kamryn Williams came in second with a provisional toss of 47.99m (157-5).
For the Rams, Kobi Valchar earned a provisional mark in the discus with a throw of 53.62m (175-11) to finish third overall in the event. Solomon Odonkor took second overall in the 100m dash, running a provisional time of 10.26.
Mark Burdin won the javelin throw with a toss of 47.27m (155-1) while Adrian Nethersole took first in the 800m run with a time of 1:56.72.
In the men's pole vault, Pacer Hill finished second after clearing a height of 4.76m (15-7.25) while Cole Paxton took second in the hammer with a throw of 50.32m (165-1).
At the Warhawk Classic, Mary Brown finished first overall in the 1,500m run, crossing the finish line at 4:54.41. She also took the top time in the 5,000m run at 18:32.72. Chasity Benson took sixth in the 5,000m (19:39.79) and finished seventh in the 1,500m run (5:17.68).
On the men's side, Caden Glenn ran a time of 4:14.39 to take sixth overall in the 1,500m run, followed by Austin Souther in seventh at 4:15.97.
ASU will travel to Canyon next week for West Texas A&M's Buffalo Invite on Thursday, Apr. 17 in the final meet before Lone Star Conference Championships.
