SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Looking for a new pair of cowboy boots? San Angelo residents will soon be able to mosey on over to the Boot Barn. Here's what we know about the soon-to-be shoe shop.

According to the City of San Angelo's permits and inspection report for April, a commercial project called the "Boot Barn" has been issued after waiting for approval throughout March. The project is estimated to cost $350,000 and is slated to be located at 2763 Southwest Blvd., in the same retail park where Hobby Lobby and a Tractor Supply Co. store are.

Boot Barn, according to its website, is a company that specializes in offering "the broadest selection of cowboy boots, work boots, western wear, workwear, western-inspired fashion and outdoor gear." The company has stores all throughout the United States, with a large concentration of them housed in Texas.

"Our vision is simple: to offer a piece of the American spirit," Boot Barn said on its website.

Beforehand, the closest Boot Barn locations to San Angelo were in Abilene and Brownwood. Both of the cities have a 1 hour, 31 minute fastest drive time from San Angelo, according to Google.

The Boot Barn isn't without its local competition, however — shops such as Bill's Man Shop, Mr. Boots and M.L. Leddy's mean that the Boot Barn will have some work to do if it wants to make a splash in San Angelo's boot scootin' boogies. For now, however, locals may be in luck if they have a little dirt on their boots.
