SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Independent School District (SAISD) is proud to recognize outstanding educators and extend support to families through upcoming community events.

Dr. Christopher Moran, the esteemed superintendent for SAISD, recently commended Veronica Stapper, A second-grade teacher at Glenmore Elementary, for her remarkable achievement. Stapper was honored as the H-E-B Excellence in Education Lifetime Achievement Elementary Winner, a recognition that celebrates her two decades of dedication to education.

In a surprise announcement in Marc, Stapper was presented with a $1,000 check and a $1,000 grant for Glenmore Elementary as a finalist. Now, as the winner, she is set to receive an impressive $25,000 in cash along with a $25,000 grant for her school.

The dedication to excellence extends beyond individual accolades to community engagement initiatives like "Manos a la Obra" Emergent Bilingual Resource Night. Scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, from 6-7:30 pm, this event is an evening designed to strengthen the bond between schools and families, fostering a supportive environment for all learners.

Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, SAISD continues its commitment to supporting families with a Pre-Kindergarten registration at the SAISD administration building on 1621 University Avenue. Families attending the event will have the opportunity to engage with SAISD representatives who will assist with the registration process and provide necessary resources.

To expedite registration, attendees are encouraged to bring proof of residence, the child's birth certificate, social security card, and updated immunization records.
