Description

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Sonora Police Department is looking for three to four individuals who fled law enforcement in the late hours of March 25 after bailing out of a vehicle.

According to Nixle alerts issued by the City of Sonora, an SPD officer assigned to Operation Stonegarden initiated the incident. Three subjects were reported to have bailed out of a vehicle and fled before any emergency equipment was activated.

The individuals bailed out in the area of Railroad Street and Glasscock Avenue and began traveling west, with one of the individuals reportedly seen in the area of Chestnut Street and Glasscock Avenue. Residents in the region were encouraged to stay in their residences and call the Sutton County Sheriff's Office to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

A partnership between SPD, the Sutton County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety resulted in the arrest of one of the subjects, who was later identified as the driver. The SPD is currently searching for the remaining individuals, with a Nixle alert issued at 8:24 a.m. on March 26 stating that three to four people absconded following the bailout.

A Nixle alert sent out at 9:30 a.m. on March 26 stated that the SPD located two undocumented immigrants at 200 W. Chestnut Ave. These individuals were not related to the bailout event, however.

Concho Valley Hompage staff contacted the Sutton County Sheriff's Office but were unable to obtain a statement as of the time of publication.

If you see any suspicious neighborhood activity, call the Sutton County Sheriff's Office at 325-387-2288.
