SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Tom Green County Commissioners Court voted to approve the resignation of the current Tom Green County district clerk during a meeting on March 26.
Anthony Monico, who has been serving the county for 18 years, announced his resignation after learning of a family member's health issues. Furthermore, Monico felt the need to be there during the difficult time and shared that Tom Green County deserved someone who could focus solely on the county.
"This isn't a decision that came lightly but when it comes to family this is something that, you know, it doesn't take any thought," he shared with Concho Valley Homepage staff.
"When it comes to this job, it's not something most people realize what kind of job it is, what the job entails and for this job it's something that requires one hundred percent focus," Monico explained. "And that's what I owe to Tom Green County and that's a reason that I'm willing to step down from this position not just because of family, but to also ensure that this county continues to operate in a manner in which it should and that with somebody that can give it one hundred percent focus."
