SAN ANGELO, Texas – On the eve of the Lone Star Conference Baseball Championship, 15 members of the top ranked Angelo State baseball program tallied 19 total awards as announced at the annual LSC baseball banquet Wednesday night.

After leading the Rams to a 41-7 overall record and the LSC regular season title, Kevin Brooks and his staff of Adam Foster, Sam Mote, Jackson Berry and Ramsey Koschak were named Lone Star Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. This is the seventh time Brooks and his staff have earned the award.

The Rams had an LSC-best three representatives on the All-Academic Team: senior management major Ethan Flodstrom, graduate profession accountancy major Jacob Guerrero and graduate MBA student Nick Wilson. The All-Academic team is chosen by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's contests, reached sophomore athletic and academic standing, completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution, and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average based on the 4.0 system for their entire collegiate career.

Three more Rams populated the LSC All-Defensive Team including junior catcher Blake Wilhoite, senior first baseman Tayten Tredaway and senior outfielder Weston Valasek.

Angelo State had 12 athletes earn all-conference accolades including four first team honors beginning with Dax Dathe as a starting pitcher, Austin Beck at second base, Jacob Guerrero in the outfield and Chase Pendley as a designated hitter.

Alizaeh Gutierrez, Lane Hutchinson, Ethan Flodstrom and Weston Valasek were named to the second team while Nick Wilson, Ryan Free, Luke Olson and Justin Harris rounded out the third team.
