SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) The Wall Hawks rolled through the regular season finishing 9-1 overall, 4-0 in district with a district title, and are now one win away from a potential state championship berth.
The Hawks early on were looking for consistency on offense while the defense continued this eason what the Hawks have been notorious for. But the consistency this season came after a few weeks and since then the Hawks have been rolling. After flying through districts, the Hawks would out score their opponents 228-44 including last weeks 49-3 win over the Canadian Wildcats, the Hawks kryptonite the past two seasons.
Wall is set to face off against Gunter this Friday at 4pm, at ABilene's Wildcat Stadium. Gunter is the back to back defending state title champion(2022, 2023), having also gone to the State title game in 2021 and losing, but also winning it in 2019 as well. One win and the Hawks will play for a potential State Title at AT&T stadium December 19th.
We caught up with Head Coach Craig Slaughter ahead of this week's state semifinal matchup to not only get his thoughts on his team but how they got here as well.
