SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Click the video above for a preview of Angelo State's doubleheader versus West Texas A&M.

Angelo State basketball returns home for the first time in over a month. Both the Rams and Rambelles are 2-0 in January and each set to tip off a four-game homestand.

Following a loss to close the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic on December 20, the Rams have pulled off back-to-back double-digit road wins over Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State. Senior guard Sterling Gaston-Chapman has been the Rams' scoring leader in each of the previous four games. Additionally, three Rams scored double figures against Sul Ross State and ASU opened the game on a 15-0 scoring run. Despite these notable statistics, Head Coach Vinay Patel sees room for improvement, especially in terms of ball distribution.

"We've been such a roller coaster in sharing the ball not sharing the ball. It's just finding consistency. The key for us in January and February is to start finding a little bit more consistency in our basketball team," Patel said.

Lengthy conference schedules lie ahead for both the Rams and Rambelles, which will last through the remainder of the regular season. Both teams ease into this upcoming stretch with a four-game homestand.

The Rambelles begin their homestand on an active eight-game winning streak. Five players reached double figures in Sunday's 92-49 win over Sul Ross State, notably Madeline Stephens and Keniah Williams who each recorded double-doubles. Head Coach Alesha Ellis' squad looks to stay hot and defend their home court in front of local fans.

"I'm very proud of the way they've played on the road. They have matured over time, and now we finally get to come and protect our home floor," Ellis said.
