SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Angelo State University is set to celebrate Homecoming 2024 with a week filled with events that the public can participate in. From a bonfire to the big game and more, here's a look at what you can do this week at the ASU campus.
Below are some of the events that will be held as part of the Homecoming festivities and descriptions of them provided by the university:
Tuesday, Oct. 22
- Ram Remembrance (7 p.m.) - A memorial ceremony to mark the passing of ASU students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends during the previous academic year. The ceremony will take place in the Houston Harte University Center.
Friday, Oct. 25
- Homecoming Awards Dinner & Auction (6 p.m.) - An evening to celebrate the 2024 Homecoming Honorees. It begins with a social gathering at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Houston Harte University Center. Tickets are available from the ASU Alumni Association for $75 per person for members or $100 each for non-members. A silent auction will open Oct. 23 and close during the dinner.
- Pep Rally and Bonfire (8 p.m.) - In the open area behind Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium, 1600 University Ave.
Saturday, Oct. 26
- Class Reunion Breakfast (9 a.m.) - Alumni can join their former classmates for a free breakfast on the lawn next to the Porter Henderson Library and then enjoy a front-row seat for the parade.
- Homecoming Parade (10 a.m.) - The parade route begins at the LeGrand Soccer Complex and then winds through the ASU campus to end at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
- Rambelles Soccer vs. Dallas Baptist (1 p.m.) - At the LeGrand Soccer Complex.
- Homecoming Ram Jam (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) - Tailgate party with free food, games, live music and more at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center.
- Homecoming Football Game (6 p.m.) - The ASU Rams take on the SRSU Lobos at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
Other Homecoming activities for students throughout the week include an Angelo Serves community service opportunity, a kickball tournament, Angelo State Trivia & Bingo, the Blue and Gold Bash and a dance and chant contest. A complete schedule of events is available at angelo.edu/homecoming.
