SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of Sonora is asking residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity after a bailout involving approximately five individuals occurred near the town on Sept. 16.

According to a public statement issued by the City, the bailout occurred in the area around mile marker 404 of Interstate 10, near Love's Travel Stop. The City said that an estimated five individuals fled from law enforcement in this region.

The City stated that law enforcement "does not have a complete description of the individuals who fled." However, it reported that "one suspect may be wearing a blue shirt and black pants."

Law enforcement is actively searching for those involved in the bailout as of the time of publication. The City has asked residents in and around Sonora to "remain alert and conscious."

Those who notice suspicious activity are asked to contact the Sonora Police Department at (325)-387-3888. In case of an emergency, dial 911.

"We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation in maintaining safety and security within our community during this ongoing situation," the City said.

This isn't the first time a bailout has occurred within Sonora. A bailout occurred approximately one month ago at the intersection of North Concho Avenue and East Mulberry Street, and another one occurred in March in the area of Railroad Street and Glasscock Avenue.
