SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of Sonora has reported that law enforcement is searching for a bailout suspect near the town, marking the second bailout incident to be reported near Sonora in November 2024.
According to a Nixle alert issued by the City, the bailout occurred "just east of the city limits" on U.S. Loop 467, approximately 200 yards away from the Holiday Host Motel & RV Park.
The suspect has been identified as a Hispanic man "wearing a black jacket with a high visibility vest on and blue jeans." The individual was stated to have run southeast "from the traffic stop."
The City has asked residents to call the Sonora Police Department at (325)-387-3888 or the Sutton County Sheriff's Office at (325)-387-2288 if they witness any suspicious activity or individuals.
The bailout is the second to have been reported by the City during November. The first, which was reported on Nov. 5, occurred after a man, later identified as 59-year-old Otis Layne Babb, crashed his vehicle and fled on foot following a "high-speed chase" with law enforcement.
