SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Concho Valley PAWS is seeking help raising funds for a dog that survived after being shot in the face.

Concho Valley PAWS first shared this news over social media on Jan. 5. According to the post, the bullet traveled through Pippa’s mouth and exited her chest.

“She is a miracle dog,” the post said. “But she’s in pain and in need of urgent medical care.”

Pippa is currently in the care of staff at Southside Hospital, however, medical costs have already exceeded $1,300, Concho Valley PAWS reported.

“We anticipate a full recovery with treatment as the bullet seemed to miss major organs and she is breathing well under sedation,” Concho Valley PAWS said.

Despite having a journey to recovery in-front of her, Pippa will need a safe place with a foster to get her paws underneath her again. Those who are interested in fostering Pippa, becoming a foster or adopting can visit the Concho Valley PAWS website.

Donations to help cover the costs of Pippa’s recovery can be made by clicking here.
