EDMOND, Ok - The Angelo State women's tennis team earned a 4-3 comeback victory over Central Oklahoma Friday evening at the Broncho Tennis Courts.

 

The Belles improve to 4-0 with the win.

 

The Rambelles dropped their first doubles point of the year as the freshman pairing of Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene would fall to Ayaka Koga and Anika Ouwejan 6-4.

Hui Soo and Karyna Yurchenko would clinch the doubles point for the Bronchos as they defeated Jessica Li and Mary-June Quinn 6-3.

 

The No. 3 ranked doubles team Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham doubles match would be called with the pairing trailing 4-3 to Pete Komada and Nefeli Zafeiri.

 

Margaux Rene recorded the Belles first point of the contest as she defeated Anika Ouwejan 6-2, 6-1 to extend her winning streak to four consecutive matches to begin her collegiate career.

 

The Bronchos regained the lead with Pete Komada defeating Jessica Li 6-0, 6-2 on court two to bring the lead 2-1 in favor of the Bronchos.

 

One of the two upperclassman on the team, Eva Schwartz tied the match 2-2 defeating Nefeli Zaferi 6-3, 6-4.

 

Ivet Stancheva extended her unbeaten streak to 10 matches defeating Hui Soo 6-3, 6-0 and gave the Rambelles a 3-2 lead with two matches remaining.

 

Benedetta Raggiotti would fall in her third consecutive match to Ayaka Koga 6-3, 6-0 to make the match 3-3 with one match remaining to clinch the victory for either side. 

 

Avery Durham would clinch the comeback victory for the Rambelles defeating Karyna Yurchenko 6-1, 6-1 on court six.

The Rambelles will be back in action tomorrow as they take on No. 24 Missouri Western with first serve scheduled for 10 a.m.
