RICHARDSON, Texas – Angelo State track & field's Jacent Nyamahunge has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Jarvis Scott Invite.
Nyamahunge, a coaching, sport, recreation, and fitness administration major from Hoima, Uganda, leads the conference in the 200-meter dash after running a time of 24.08 at the Jarvis Scott Invite hosted by Texas Tech. She finished 11th overall in the event and was the top Division II runner. She ranks 11th overall in all of Division II.
She was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that earned a provisional time of 3:45.94 and ranks 25th in Division II.
The ASU track & field teams will head to Albuquerque, N.M., this weekend for the LSC Indoor Championships beginning on Friday.
