SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Click the video above to check in with the Wall Hawks as the team begins district play.
The Wall Hawks return to the hardwood on Friday, Dec. 20 to tip off district play (3A Region 1, District 6) versus the Sweetwater Mustangs.
Wall comes into Friday's matchup with a 5-10 record. The Hawks' 2024 season has been a bit rocky, given that the team started 3-0, lost each of its next six games, and now finds itself trying to break another losing streak.
The Hawks finished 1-3 in this year's Glen Rose Tournament, which was held between Dec. 12-14. Wall's only win in that span came against Eagle Mountain by a final score of 40-39 in an overtime thriller.
Despite the 1-3 record and his team's recent struggles, Wall head coach Parker Roberts is proud of his team's ability to move the ball well, get in transition well and its toughness on defense. Heading into district play, Wall must maintain consistency. This all starts with practice.
"I like to have a good detailed practice plan where our guys know what we're doing, why we're doing it, and just being able to execute it over and over until it's basically muscle memory and instinct," Roberts said.
