SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 13th-ranked Rambelles and 18th-ranked Rams concluded the opening day of the 53rd Annual David Noble Relays on Thursday at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
After day one, Mark Burdin leads the decathlon with a total score of 3,872 points. He took first overall in three of the five events, throwing 14.73m (48-4) in the shot put, clearing a height of 1.95m (6-4.75) in the high jump, and jumping 7.19m (23-7) in the long jump.
In the women's heptathlon, Maricia Spence is second overall through the first four events with 3,234 points. She took first-place in the 100-meter hurdles (14.23), the 200m (24.76), and the shot put (11.56m | 37-11).
Kylie Frush is in fourth place with a score of 2,882 points, earning the second fastest time in the 200m at 24.87 while Gracie Stephens is fifth with 2,663 points after taking third in the shot put with a throw of 10.17m (33-4.5).
The multis will continue tomorrow with the decathlon resuming at 1 p.m., followed the heptathlon at 2 p.m.
