Description

LAWTON, OKLA. -  The Angelo State women's tennis team would fall to Cameron 4-3 Monday Afternoon inside the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.

 

The Belles fall to 12-5 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

 

Jessica Li and Ivet Stancheva defeated Alexsa Paucar and Magda Wawrowska 6-1 to win the first doubles match of the day. Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene would claim the doubles point for the Rambelles as they defeated Anastasia Uspenskaia and Mara Vidal 7-5. The No. 13th-ranked doubles team of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz would defeat the No. 3-ranked doubles team 7-5. The Belles would have the 1-0 advantage and the momentum heading into singles action. 

 

Anastasia Uspenskaia defeated Margaux Rene 6-3, 6-2 to get the Aggies on the board and tie the match 1-1.

 

Ivet Stancheva defeated Mara Vidal 6-2, 6-1 to give the Rambelles the lead back with an 2-1 advantage. 

 

Avery Durham did not lose a set as she went on to defeat Alexsa Paucar 6-0, 6-0 to give the Rambelles a 3-1 advantage.

 

Magda Waworwska defeated Benedetta Raggiotti 6-4, 6-3 to make the score 3-2 in favor of the Rambelles.

 

Martyna Jankowska defeated Eva Schwartz in a three-set thriller 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 to tie the match at 3-3. 

The match would come down to Jessica Li and Jenna Goessel.  Goessel would come out on top as she defeated Li 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to claim the victory for the Rambelles.

The Rambelles will return to action when they take on Lubbock Christian on April 12th at home with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
