SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Click the video above to watch Central Bobcats week 2 highlights.

The Central Bobcats traveled north to face the Amarillo Sandies Friday night, looking to avenge week one's letdown versus Abilene High. Coming into Friday, history was on Amarillo's side, given that they had defeated Central in 10 of the previous 14 meetings.

The Bobcats started hot, with quarterback Christian "Squeaky" English throwing two touchdowns to his favorite target, wide receiver Jimmy Edwards. However, an early 14-0 lead was quickly erased.

The Sandies converted the deficit into a double-digit lead, but narrowly held on for a 48-45 victory after fending off a late Central rally. The Bobcats fall to 0-2 in head coach Mark Smith's inaugural season; the team hits the road again to face Abilene Cooper in week 3.
