Both of Wall's basketball squads have found their groove lately. The Lady Hawks came in winning six of its last seven games, while the Hawks entered Friday's game on a five-game winning streak.

The Lady Hawks led the Merkel Lady Badgers 23-5 at halftime, and they only continued to dominate in the second half. Katherine Lewis scored Wall's first second half points on a floater off the glass, and Kennedi Graves cut inside for a layup just one possession later, extending Wall's commanding lead to 27-5. A notable fourth-quarter scoring play included a steal by Katelynn Holtman, which she converted into a fast-break play ending in a spinning fadeaway jumper. This put Wall on top by a score of 37-11, only strengthening Wall's dominant performance. The Lady Hawks get the win, 41-17, improving to 4-1 in district play and 15-7 overall.

The Hawks' game tipped off immediately following the conclusion of the Lady Hawks' win, and the result wasn't much different. The Hawks wasted no time, scoring on the first possession via a layup by Jaxson Kirkland. Wall's Jager Thompson led all scorers with 14 points, and especially caught fire during the first quarter. Thompson hit back-to-back three pointers from the top of the key, guiding Wall to an early 14-1 lead. The Hawks never trailed in this one as they soared to their sixth consecutive win, defeating the Badgers 61-20. Wall now moves to 2-1 in district play and 11-9 overall.
