SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) The Lake View Chiefs hosted Pecos at home to kickoff district play. But the Chiefs would drop the first game of district after an OT thriller and a controversial call.

The Chiefs were up by 1 going into half 15-14, and down 7 to end the 3rd quarter. But Lake View would not go down without fighting and would ultimately force OT after a 41 yard field goal by Izaiah Rios was good at the end of regulation. The Eagles scored on their opening possession of OT and converted the 2pt try. The Chiefs would get the ball to tie and would fall short after the Chiefs receiver collided with a referee on 4th and goal to end the game. We spoke to Head Coach Guevara on Tuesday regarding his teams performance and his goal to clean up mistakes and self inflicted wounds to better compete to close out games.

Lake View are 0-1 in district and back at home with a short week as Big Springs comes to town Thursday Night for week 2 of district play.
