SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) —The San Angelo Art Club is gearing up to host its third annual West Texas Regional Juried Art Show & Scale from Sept. 15 to Oct. 6 at the Kendall Art Gallery.

Located at 119 W First St., this year's showcase will feature various arrays of artworks from across the western half of Texas, competing for a total of $6,000 in cash awards. The judging process will involve four jurors who will select the artworks for the show.

Josefa González Mariscal, the new Executive Director of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, will serve as the judge for the event. The opening reception, scheduled for Sept. 14, will announce the winners of several awards, including the $1,000 Best of Show sponsored by Beverly and Ben Stribling. Additional prizes include five $500 awards, one $750 award for a realistic painting and seven $250 Merit Awards.

According to a press release from the San Angelo Art Club, the event will serve as the club's sole juried exhibition of 2024 and will display works from various mediums including paintings, photographs, mixed media and three-dimensional pieces.

"Artist don't have to sell their work, but many do. Last year, we sold over $5,000 worth of art, which boosts artists' confidence and encourages their continued creativity," said Jean Hoelscher, Exhibition Chair for the San Angelo Art Club.

The show will be open to the public every weekend during its run. Members of the San Angelo Art Club will be present to welcome visitors and discuss the artworks on display. Admission is free.
