San Angelo ISD 5th and 8th Graders Begin Preparing for Next Educational Milestones

January 15, 2025

During January and February, San Angelo ISD 5th and 8th-grade students will begin planning their transitions to the next stage of their educational journey — 5th graders moving from elementary to middle school, and 8th graders advancing from middle school to high school.

San Angelo ISD 5th Grade Students Begin Transition to Middle School

During the month of January and February, San Angelo ISD students in 5th grade will begin planning for their transitions from elementary to middle school.

5th grade students will learn more about opportunities awaiting them in middle school and work with their principal and teachers to complete their course selections in Home Access Center. Parents will get a copy of each student's course selection to approve and make any changes needed.

The Transition Fair will provide time for 5th grade students to learn about middle school. Students will visit their middle school campus during the school day based on the following schedule:

  • Glenn Middle School Transition Fair: February 4, 2025
    • For 5th grade students from Bowie, Belaire, Crockett, Fort Concho, and Glenmore Elementary Schools
  • Lone Star Middle School Transition Fair: February 6, 2025
    • For 5th grade students from Bonham, McGill, Reagan, San Jacinto, and Santa Rita Elementary Schools
  • Lincoln Middle School Transition Fair: January 29, 2025
    • For 5th grade students from Goliad, Bradford, Holiman, Fannin Elementary Schools

We want to make each student’s transition as smooth as possible and enable them to identify a pathway to their individual hopes and dreams. You can learn more about the transition process by clicking the appropriate links below:

San Angelo ISD 8th Grade Students Begin Transition to High School

During the month of January and February, San Angelo ISD students in 8th grade will begin planning their transitions from middle school to high school.

Working closely with their middle school counselors and Career Pathways or Leadworthy teachers, students will develop individual graduation plans to complete the transition process.

The district will host Transition Fairs to help 8th grade students learn about the key aspects of high school planning, including graduation requirements and the various programs of study available through Career and Technical Education (CTE.) Students will visit their high school campus during the school day based on the following schedule:

  • Glenn Middle School Transition Fair at Central: January 27, 2025
  • Lone Star Middle School Transition Fair at Central: January 29, 2025
  • Lincoln Middle School Transition Fair at Lake View: January 21, 2025

Each student’s plan will be accessible for students and parents to review together using the online platform, Xello, over the next few weeks. Information on how to login in to Xello will be communicated by your student’s campus. Parents/guardians will be able to work with their students to make changes to the plan in Xello through Thursday, March 6, 2025. Graduation plans will be finalized by the end of day Friday, March 7, 2025.
