Richardson, Texas – After a weekend of competition that saw the nation's fourth-ranked team win three out of four games against St. Mary's and St. Edward's, Angelo State softball's Tatiana Trotter has been named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week for her displays at the plate.
The Rambelles' center fielder hit .615 with a .706 on-base percentage and a 1.538 slugging percentage, as five of her eight hits went for extra bases. She drove in nine runs and crossed the plate six times herself.
She opened her weekend with a triple in game one against St. Mary's before going 2-for-3 from the plate in game two with a grand slam and five RBI as the Rambelles won 13-4 in five innings. The five RBI tie her single-game high, which she accomplished last season against Arkansas Tech on February 3rd.
In Austin, she went 3-for-4 from the plate in game one with two two-run home runs and a double in the 16-7 win for the first multi-home run game in her career. She closed the weekend by going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and runs scored in the Rambelles' 4-3 win in eight innings against St. Edward's.
After a slow start to 2025, Trotter has recorded a hit in the past eight games and has five multi-hit games in that stretch. She has 14 hits in her last 26 at bats, which is good enough for a .538 batting average.
On the season, the Intelligence and Analysis major is hitting .368 at the plate with 23 RBI and a .632 slugging percentage. She is second on the team with 19 walks and a .527 on-base percentage.
This is Trotter's third weekly honor in her career and first of the season. She is the third Rambelle to win a weekly honor this season, joining teammates Cheyenne Floyd and Laylonna Applin.
The Rambelles are 22-4 on the season and 13-3 in LSC play. They are at home this weekend to host Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico.
