San Angelo ISD Partners with Shannon Medical Center to Host Clinic for State-Required Immunizations

September 5, 2024

San Angelo ISD will host an immunization clinic in partnership with Shannon Medical Center to provide SAISD families accessible opportunities for students in kindergarten through 12th grade to get Texas-required immunizations

The date, time and location is as follows:

Saturday, September 14th

  • Time: 9:00-12:00
  • Location: SAISD District Administration Building, 1621 University Ave.

State law and the Texas Department of State Health Services require that students be fully vaccinated against certain diseases, and provide that all immunizations should be completed by the first day of attendance. SAISD cares about our students, and our goal is to partner with our families so they can be in school where they have the best opportunity to learn and grow.

Immunizations available on-site at the clinics will include Hepatitis A, Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Chickenpox (VAR), Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTAP), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDAP), Meningococcal (MCV4), Bexsero (Men B), and Polio (IPV).

Additional details include:

  • No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome.
  • A parent or guardian must accompany students 5-17 years old and sign consent paperwork prior to the administration of the immunization(s)
  • Please bring picture IDs, student shot records and insurance cards
    • Picture ID must be presented to receive immunizations
  • Shot records will be updated the day of the event
  • No payment is required at the time of service
  • Shannon Medical Center staff will administer the immunizations

You can download the 2024-2025 Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements for students grades K–12 from the Texas Department of State Health Services website.

For questions or concerns about immunizations or the immunization clinics at our SAISD middle schools, please contact Monica Porras, Health Services Coordinator, at [email protected] or 325-947-3838 ext 512.

SAISD is partnering with Shannon Medical Center to provide this opportunity to our families for convenience and accessibility. The health, safety and well-being of our students, staff and San Angelo community continues to be our guiding priority. We appreciate the support and collaboration with Shannon Medical Center in providing this opportunity to our SAISD families.
