SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — In the morning of Jan. 1, three individuals with mask were arrested at a traffic stop.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, the three individuals are 20-year-old Jose Montez, 19-year-old John Postlewaite and 18-year-old Lucas Garza. The arrest started off as a traffic stop around 1:35 a.m.

"Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet van that was being operated without headlights, as required. Upon making contact with the vehicle's occupants, officers observed that all three subjects had masks in their possession," said SAPD.

The officers then conducted a search of the vehicle. The officers found a gun in the vehicle that was reported stolen in September of 2024.

"During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered marijuana and two firearms, which were linked to two of the subjects," said SAPD.

Montez was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, possession of marijuana, minor in possession of tobacco, minor in possession of alcohol and driving without headlights. Postlewaite was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, minor in possession of tobacco and minor in possession of alcohol. Garza was arrested and charged with minor in possession tobacco and minor in possession of alcohol.

SAPD says the investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
