SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of San Angelo has announced that multiple playgrounds across the town will be closed after recent heavy rainfall caused erosion damage.
According to the City, the following playgrounds and playground installations will be closed:
- Rio Concho Community Park playground at Texas Bank Sports Complex
- Bell St Park
- The swing area at Kids Kingdom
The City stated that the playgrounds will be closed "until further notice" while crews work to repair "erosion issues" caused by rain that fell in San Angelo during the night of Thursday, Nov. 7.
The National Weather Service of San Angelo reported that approximately 3.84 inches of rain fell in San Angelo on Nov. 7, setting a new record for the town for "the wettest November day." KLST-TV chief meteorologist Randy Turner said that the previous record was set in 2019 with 0.71 inches.
