SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Heather Wright, 5th grade teacher at Glenmore Elementary, has been honored as the latest recipient of the “Teacher of the Week” award.

Wright is a mother of three who began her school career as a cafeteria worker. Wright has now been a teacher for the past three years. Wright said becoming a daycare worker is what sparked her interest in teaching.

"I said, if I can work with the smallest kids, I can work with any student. and I loved it, and I knew that I wanted to just further my career," said Wright.

The person who nominated Wright says she always gives 200% and works long hours to make sure her students have all the right resources needed to succeed
