SAN ANGELO – When Angelo State softball senior pitcher Cheyenne Floyd struck out UT Permian Basin’s Kaylee Moses for the final out of the Rambelles’ 4-2 win over the Falcons this past Friday, it gave Rambelles head coach Travis Scott the 1,000th win of his prolific coaching career, which has spanned the past 25 seasons in the Lone Star Conference.
Scott, a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, has spent the past 22 seasons at Angelo State, following three seasons of coaching at his alma mater, Southeastern Oklahoma State. He is the first coach in the conference’s history to win 1,000 games in the LSC.
He is the 56th coach in NCAA softball history to reach the milestone, the 27th in Division II, and the 16th to achieve all 1,000 wins at the Division II level.
