SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State Track & Field teams compete at one of the biggest meets of the year this week as the Rams and Rambelles travel to Austin for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays beginning on Thursday.

ASU qualified 21 athletes for the Texas Relays with 12 on the men's side and nine on the women's side. The first event on Thursday for ASU will be the women's hammer beginning at 11 a.m., while the running events begin at 4:30 p.m. with the women's 400m hurdles.

 

Last Time Out:

The Rams set three program records at the Wes Kittley Invitational last week as Solomon Odonkor won the 100m and the 200m with times of 10.05 and 20.39. Oleg Ananev also set the pole vault record for ASU, clearing a height of 5.60m (18-4.5) to win the event. On the women's side, the Rambelles won four events while collecting provisional marks in the discus, shot put, hammer and javelin.

 

Records Set in 2025:

The Rams and Rambelles have moved their record total up to five so far this season:

Men:

100m: 10.05, Solomon Odonkor

200m: 20.39, Solomon Odonkor

Pole Vault: 18-4.5, Oleg Ananev

 

Women:

Pole Vault: 12-11.75, Kylyie Paden

Hammer: 196-10, Marie Schuler

 

Quick Notes:

- Odonkor and Ananev were both named LSC Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Wes Kittley Invite.

- ASU currently holds 12 top 10 marks in Division II, leading the country in three events. Marie Schuler has the top mark in the hammer (60.01m), Federica Dozio leads the javelin (48.38m), and Ananev leads the pole vault (5.60m).

- The Rams and Rambelles also lead the LSC in 11 events overall and have 73 top 10 marks in the conference.

- Josh Body was named the LSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year after claiming the national title in the triple jump.
