Arkadelphia, Arkansas - The Angelo State women's tennis team extended their win streak to 10 consecutive matches with their 4-0 victory over Henderson State at the Ward Tennis Center Sunday afternoon.

 

Angelo State improves to 10-0 the best start in school history.  The No. 6th ranked doubles team in the nation, Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham started the day off strong for the Rambelles, winning 6-2 at line doubles. Angela Georgieva and Lily Winter defeated Mary June Quinn and Elise Gillis 6-4 to make it one in doubles play. Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene would clinch the doubles point for the Rambelles as they defeated Adiay Abdugappar and Angela Dorado, 7-6.

 

The No. 23 ranked singles player Margaux Rene would defeat No. 75 Jenna Bohnert 7-0, 6-2 to give the Rambelles a 2-0 advantage.

 

Benedetta Raggiotti continued her run of form as she defeated Angela Georgieva 6-3, 6-2 to give the Rambelles a 3-0 advantage.

 

Eva Schwartz would clinch the match for the Rambelles as she would take down the No. 56 ranked player in the nation 0-6, 6-1. 6-2 to claim the 10th consecutive victory for the Rambelles.

 

Avery Durham, Ivet Stancheva, and Elise Gillis matches would be called due to both teams playing clinch-clinch.

 

Avery Durham would be ahead 2-6, 6-1, 4-1 over Adiya Abudgappar.

 

Ivet Stancheva would be in the lead 6-4 when her match would be called.

Elise Gillis would be ahead of Elizaveta Kisel 4-2 when her match was called.
