SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team fell to DBU 4-3 Friday afternoon inside the ASU Tennis Complex. 

 

The Belles fall to 12-2 overall and 1-1 in Lone Star Conference action.

 

Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux won the first doubles match 6-1 against Emily Buchanan and Jenna Payne. The No. 12 ranked doubles pairing Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham clinched the doubles point for the Rambelles as they defeated Isabellea Arana Rios and Madalyn Smelly 6-3. Andrea Delgado and Isabella Quintero of DBU defeated Jessica Li and Ivet Stancheva 6-2.

 

Eva Schwartz would give the Rambelles an early advantage as she defeated Leonie Schondelmaier 6-3, 6-3 to give the Rambelles the 2-0 advantage.

 

Isabella Arana Rios would defeat Benedetta Raggiotti 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to score the first point for the Lady Patriots. 

 

Andrea Delgado defeated Ivet Stancheva 6-2, 6-4 to tie the match 2-2. 

 

Margaux Rene would come back to win her match in a three-set thriller where she defeated Katherine Robinson 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 giving the Rambelles a 3-2 advantage. 

 

Madalyn Smelley would go on to defeat Jessica Li in three-sets 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 to tie the match 3-3.

 

With the victory on the line, Emily Buchanan would get the best of Avery Durham defeating her 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 to keep the Lady Patriots perfect this season.
