SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team travels to Florida as they take on No. 7 Nebraska-Kearney on Mar.16th at 2:30 p.m and Lewis University on Mar. 17th at 11 a.m.

Head Coach Jason Potthoff has started his third spring season strong setting a new program record starting the season 10-0. Last season the Belles made it to the round of 16 for the first time in program history. Belles Tennis is currently ranked 18th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll.
The Belles are coming into the contest 10-0 after defeating Texas A&M - Kingsville, 5-2 and Henderson State 4-0.
No. 7 Nebraska Kearney is coming into the match winning their last three matchups, 7-0 and have a 9-1 overall record. The Antelopes have three players ranked in the top 75, Fabiana Gamboa is ranked No. 9, Narindra Ranavio is ranked 59th in the nation, and Tanyaradzwa Midzi ranks 74th in the nation. The pairing of Narindra Ranaivo and Tanyaradzwa Midzi ranks 6th in the double's rankings. Mariya Hatouka and Alexis Berntha ranks 45th in the nation in doubles
The Rambelles have faced Nebraska-Kearney once before where the Belles came out on top, 6-1 on Mar. 12th, 2022.
Lewis is coming into the matchup with a, 4-3 win against Purdue Northwest and a, 5-2 loss against Davenport. Lewis University record is 2-3 heading into the spring break trip.
When the Belles take on Lewis University on Mar. 17th that will be the first time the two teams face off in program history.
The Rambelles are 42-12 in singles play, with freshman Margaux Rene leading the way starting her collegiate career 9-1 through the first ten contest of the year and ranked 27th in singles play. Rene defeated Amelie Gindl 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 for her win against a ranked opponent. Gindl was sixth in the nation at the time of the match. Rene is coming off a win against the No. 75 ranked singles player Jessica Bohnert 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles play, the Belles are 17-9 overall, led by the No.8 ranked doubles pairing, Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz who are currently ranked 8th in the nation with a 6-1 overall record.
Sophomore Ivet Stancheva was named the Player of the Week for her performances against Central Oklahoma and Missouri Western
