SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State softball team continues on its ten-game road trip this weekend, heading to Odessa on Friday to take on UT Permian Basin before ending its weekend on Sunday in Alpine against LSC newcomers Sul Ross State. Friday's doubleheader against the Falcons will start at 4 p.m., while the doubleheader on Sunday against the Lobos will begin at noon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Rambelles dropped all four games this past weekend on the road against No. 3 West Texas A&M and Midwestern State. The Lady Buffs took game one 10-6 before claiming game two 8-7 on a walk-off single; that game featured the Rambelles overcoming a six-run deficit to tie the game at 7-all. The Mustangs swept the Rambelles behind 2-1 and 5-2 victories.
RAMBELLES RANKED NO. 7
The Rambelles are ranked seventh in the latest version of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, falling three spots after spending four consecutive weeks in the fourth spot. The Rambelles are in the nation's top ten for the first time since the 2022 season and were in the top five for the first time since the beginning of the 2021 season.
FLOYD RECORDS
Senior pitcher Cheyenne Floyd continues to put her name all over the career record book at Angelo State. The senior is tied for fourth in program history in career ERA (2.03) and is tied for third in opponent batting average (.204). Her 377 strikeouts for the Blue and Gold are third all-time; she sits nine back of tying Angelo State Hall of Famer Claudia Lopez for second all-time in program history. Her seven shutouts are tied for ninth in program history, and her 42 wins are tenth all-time.
SCOTT CLOSES IN ON 1K CAREER WINS
Head coach Travis Scott is closing in on 1,000 career wins. He currently sits on 998 career wins. He is seventh among all Division II coaches in wins and 15th in winning percentage. He is 22nd among all coaches across all three divisions in wins. He won his first 101 games at Southeastern Oklahoma before winning the following 897 wins at the helm of the Rambelles softball program.
