Frisco, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team defeated the fourth-seeded Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds, 71-61, in a tightly contested ball game inside the Comerica Center Thursday evening.
The Belles improve to 18-11 overall and advance to the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament as they will take on the No.1 seed Texas Woman's with tip-off scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
ASU is seeking its second tournament title in three years and 11th overall in the LSC Tournament.
40 Minute Rundown
- Keniah Williams scored the first points of the LSC tournament for the Rambelles.
- Majik Esquivel and Madi Lumsden would hit back-to-back threes to give the Rambelles a 9-6 lead with 5:33 remaining in the quarter.
- The Greyhounds regained the lead, 15-14, with 55 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
- Taylor Grona would knock down three free throws at the end of the first quarter to give the Rambelles a 17-15 lead going into the second quarter of action.

- Esquivel knocked down clutch free throws with 45 seconds remaining in the contest to give the Belles their first double-digit lead of the game, 69-69.
