Kelly Irvin from Renegade Fireworks says everyone is looking for the biggest boom to ring in the new year.

"Oh it’s a mixture everybody always wants your firecrackers and your smoke bomb, but then people are liking aerials more and more the artillery shell and they call them 500 grams," said Irvin.

The appeal of these fireworks is clear—they pack a punch. With hundreds of shells in one firework, they deliver a stunning show that buyers consider the "best bang for their buck."

Irvin also emphasizes that safety is the top priority. It’s crucial to shoot fireworks in an open area, far from any trees, power lines, or other obstacles. She also stresses the importance of reading the instructions on each firework carefully before lighting it. And no matter the size of the fireworks you’re using, it’s always best to have a safety plan in place.

As a reminder, shooting or possessing fireworks within 5,000 feet of the San Angelo city limits is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by fines up to $2,000. This includes even small sparklers, which many people use to celebrate the new year.
