SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Veribest High School boys basketball team is one of the top teams in the Concho Valley and the Falcons are hoping to make a push for the District 11-1A championship.

Veribest is 14-3 overall and 3-1 in district. The Falcons were cooled off by Irion County 68-44 on the road Tuesday in their first district loss.

The Falcons have been especially strong at home with a 5-0 mark. They have a 3-2 mark on the road and they are 6-1 in neutral-site games.

Veribest has an open date on Friday before returning to action on the road against Water Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The next home game is Friday, Jan. 17 against Blackwell.

The Falcons have five seniors on their roster -- Elizeo Madera, Lane Howard, Stephen Whiteker, Lane Palmer and Peyton Larson.
