SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Jan. 8 after leading law enforcement on a vehicle pursuit that caused property damage to a police vehicle, according to the San Angelo Police Department.
The SAPD said in a public statement that an officer "observed a vehicle driving recklessly" while in the 2700 block of Chadbourne Street at approximately 9:14 p.m. Although the officer attempted to begin a traffic stop, the driver refused to comply and fled the area via her vehicle, causing a "brief pursuit" to unfold.
During the chase, the suspect reportedly "caused minor damage to a police vehicle" by driving recklessly. No injuries were reported, though.
The SAPD stated that the pursuit came to an end at the intersection of 33rd Street and Bryant Boulevard. The suspect was then taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Faith Herrera, was charged with reckless driving, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle via hit-and-run.
