SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team split its doubleheader on Friday evening against Midwestern State, winning game one 7-0 before dropping game two 6-5.

The Rambelles honored their ten seniors as they play their final home games of their collegiate careers this weekend.

The Rambelles' offense came alive in the second inning in game one, scoring five runs.

Zoey De Baca singled in a run to open the scoring before Abby Brand tripled to the opposite field, plating two more runs and making it 3-0.

A pitch hit Erin Plunkett to extend the inning, with the senior stealing second base to put two runners in scoring position for Laylonna Applin, who singled in the pair to bring the lead to five runs.

A De Baca double in the fifth inning drove in a run to make it 6-0.

Ashton McMillan capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Cheyenne Floyd picked up her 23rd win in 2025, pitching 6.1 shutout innings and allowing three hits and a walk while striking out nine Mustangs. Matie Wolkow recorded the final two outs in relief of her former McLennan teammate.

Game two saw the Rambelles open the scoring in the third inning on a Tatiana Trotter sacrifice fly and a double steal to make it 2-0.

The Mustangs would score four runs in the fifth and twice in the sixth inning to take a four-run lead.

McMillan would hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to halve the deficit, and a De Baca single the following inning would bring the game within one run; however, the Rambelles were unable to find the tying run against Addison Lindemann.

Amelia Hatthorn started game two in the circle, throwing 4.1 innings before making way for Raegan Sucher, who threw the following 2.1 innings. Wolkow would enter in relief for the second-straight game to record the final out.

The Rambelles are 42-10 on the season and 33-9 in LSC play. They close the regular season on Sunday against the nation's top-ranked team, West Texas A&M.
