SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team hits the road for the final time this year as they take on Western New Mexico on April 26th and Sul Ross State on April 27th.

Head Coach Jason Potthoff started his third spring season strong, setting a new program record by starting the season 12-0. The Belles sit 13-7 overall and 2-6 in Lone Star Conference action heading into this weekend's matchup. Last season, the Belles made it to the round of 16 for the first time in program history.
The Rambelles come into the contest against Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State, dropping their last contest to St. Mary's 4-3 on April 19th.
The Mustangs are coming into the match losers of their last two, falling 7-0 to Lubbock Christian on April 18th and 5-2 to Texas Permian Basin on April 19th.
The Lobos are coming into the matchup without a win on the year. Sul Ross dropped their last two contests 7-0 against Lubbock Christian and Texas Permian Basin.
The Rambelles are 68-46 in singles play, with freshman Margaux Rene leading the way, starting her collegiate career 15-5 with two contests remaining in the regular season. Rene is ranked 41st in the nation in singles play. Rene defeated the No. 3-ranked Amelie Gindl 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 for her first win against a ranked opponent against Southern Arkansas on Mar. 1st. Gindl was sixth in the nation at the time of the match and is currently ranked third. Rene recorded her second win against a ranked opponent when she defeated the 75th-ranked singles player at the time, Jessica Bohnert 6-0, 6-2 on Mar. 9th. Rene then earned her third-ranked win when she defeated the No. 73 ranked singles player at the time, Andrea De Bernardo 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. In the team's last match-up against St. Mary's, Rene defeated the No. 38-ranked singles player, Selina Wu, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.
Ivet Stancheva continues her dominant run of form as she is 13-6 coming into the weekend matchups against Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State.
In doubles play, the Belles are 35-19 overall, led by the 11th-ranked doubles pairing of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz, who are currently 12-4. The freshman pairing of Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene is 13-7 overall in doubles play.
Stancheva was named the Player of the Week for her performances against Central Oklahoma and Missouri Western.
